La aproape 20 de ani de la revoluţie, dacă ar fi să căutăm o caracteristică a democraţiei româneşti, un element pe care să îl regăsim în mod constant, indiferent de cine s-a aflat la putere sau în opoziţie, acesta ar fi, în mod paradoxal, inconstanţa. Fiindcă în România, discursul şi comportamentul actorilor politici nu este determinat decât arareori de ideologie, ci, în cele mai multe cazuri, de interesul electoral de moment, aşa cum o dovedeşte şi recentul scandal declanşat de adoptarea legii lui 50%.
În urmă cu, să zicem, aproximativ două luni de zile, situaţia de pe scena politică putea fi rezumată astfel: după doi ani de guvernare minoritară, PNL şi PSD păreau să nu-şi mai dispute decât paternitatea pomenilor electorale, în timp ce Palatul Cotroceni, secondat de PD-L, nu pierdeau nici un prilej de a denunţa comportamentul celor două. Asăzi însă, lucrurile sunt exact pe dos.

After almost 20 years from the Revolution, if we search a feature of the Romanian democracy, there is an element which we constantly find, no matter who was in office or in opposition, and this is, paradoxically, the inconstancy. Because in Romania, the speech and the behavior of the political actors are only rarely induced by ideology, but, in most of the cases, by the electoral interest of the moment, like the recent scandal released by the adoption of the 50% law proves it.
Let’s say, two months ago, the situation on the political stage could be resumed as it follows: after two years of governing in minority, NLP and SDP seemed to dispute only the paternity of the electoral alms, while the Cotroceni Palace, backed up by DLP, weren’t missing any opportunity to denounce the behavior of the two ones. But today, things turned just the wrong way.
